Zack Biebrly

Dr. Zack Bieberly is a residency-trained veterinarian in the Internal Medicine Department at Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty. A Kansas native, Dr. Bieberly earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2022 before completing a small animal rotating internship at Iowa State University. He remained at Iowa State to complete a three-year residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2026.

Dr. Bieberly's clinical interests include immune-mediated diseases, hematology, interventional procedures, and endoscopy. He is especially drawn to the problem-solving nature of internal medicine and the opportunity to help patients and their families navigate complex or challenging medical conditions.

His interest in veterinary medicine began at a young age. Growing up in Kansas, Dr. Bieberly was surrounded by animals, including family dogs, cats, horses, and goats, as well as wildlife undergoing rehabilitation. Those early experiences helped shape his desire to pursue a career where he could care for animals while also supporting their families through the uncertainty and stress that can accompany a pet's illness.

Dr. Bieberly has contributed to veterinary research published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery, and American Journal of Veterinary Research. His research has included topics such as antimicrobial concentrations in cats, chronic enteropathies in cats, and postoperative pain management in dogs.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Bieberly enjoys reading, exploring local independent bookstores, participating in weekly trivia nights, and shopping for antiques.
