Dr. Ellen Heinrich received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Kansas State University in 2011. She then worked toward her Master of Public Health with an emphasis in infectious disease and zoonosis at the same time as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Kansas State University and graduated in 2016. Following graduation, she completed a one-year rotating small animal internship at Michigan State University. Dr. Heinrich next completed a three-year small animal internal medicine residency at Iowa State University and finished in July 2020.
Dr. Heinrich has a special interest in infectious diseases and One Health - the collaboration between multiple disciplines recognizing the interconnection between people, animals, and their shared environment.
Outside of clinics, Dr. Heinrich enjoys spending time with her husband and extended family (lots of nieces and nephews!), running, reading, and attending Chiefs, Royals and K-State games.
