Brittany McBrain
Dr. Brittany McBrain is a compassionate veterinarian from Blackwell, OK. She earned her bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Oklahoma State University and then obtained her doctor of veterinary medicine degree at Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. McBrain’s interest in veterinary medicine sparked during her childhood when her horse fell ill with West Nile Virus. Witnessing the veterinarian’s expertise and dedication in treating her beloved horse left a lasting impression, inspiring her to pursue a career in veterinary science. Her early fascination with science and a desire to understand how things work further fueled her ambition to become a veterinarian.
Choosing to specialize in emergency veterinary medicine, Dr. McBrain thrives in the dynamic and fast-paced environment of the ER. She believes that emergency medicine offers an unparalleled opportunity to encounter a diverse range of cases, allowing her to learn and grow as a practitioner continuously. The unpredictability and urgency of emergency cases drive her to develop swift and effective treatment plans, ensuring that each animal receives the best possible care when they need it most.
Dr. McBrain started with our hospitals in the Spring of 2023 in our ER Immerse program. This program provided a nine-month guided ER mentorship. After completing her mentorship, Dr. McBrain transitioned into a full-time ER Veterinarian for both of our hospitals.
When she’s not at the clinic, Dr. McBrain enjoys staying outdoors and active. Her love for animals extends beyond her professional life, as she is an avid equestrian and enjoys caring for her own pets.
